With a shark behind me!

It all started with a joke “draw me in a skateboard , jumping over a cliff and with a big shark behind me!” And so I did. Now I am just waiting for my boyfriend to use it in his facebook.  He also added “eating tacos” but that was too much for me.

Drawing & Bubbles

When I was younger all I wanted to do for a living was to draw. Now I don’t have that much time, as a matter of fact, before this week, I don’t remember the last time I made something.  In real life I don’t know what I want to do with my life (working life) but I don’t want to leave behind drawing.

These days I’ve been feeling with inspiration and creative. Making chibiusa’s wallpaper and some outer senshi (I’ll post them later) among other stuff. I want to continue making these drawings and post them.

ChibiUsa cellphone wallpaper

I wanted to change my cellphone wallpaper. But I didn’t know what to put. Today I was feeling a little artsy/creative so I decided do make a ChibiUsa wallpaper for it. At first I made a Sailor Moon one, but I decided on this on the last minute because the icons covered Sailor Moon.
I really loved how it turned out. Maybe I’ll do all the other characters in Sailor Moon, it depends on how inspired I’ll feel.
Here is the original image, if anyone would like to use it for their own wallpaper:

Unmarried Trip

I have a boyfriend. We’ve been dating for 6 years now and I am going to New York with him for vacations. Not that difficult to understand, right? WRONG. Whenever I say that I am going with him – an UNMARRIED woman – it shocks people (coworkers/friends/family/you name it).

I live in a small city in Mexico. I call it a ranch with pavement. Everyone knows everyone, or has a friend that knows that person. So the reaction I had with some family members is that “it’s a married thing” and “what would people said”. I am a 26 year old woman that earns her own money and helps/supports a part of the house. I live alone in the house almost 1/3 of the time. But no one seems to care about that. Only that I am not married to him and going to a 6 night trip with him.
Last Thursday when my friends and coworkers asked me with who I was going on my vacations I had the SAME reaction. It’s annoying. One friend was the only one that said something against them like who cares and we are all grownups.  I don’t understand. What’s worse is that there is a double moral about this. No one cares about an unmarried man going on a trip with his girlfriend. It’s me the only one that gets those reactions. Nobody seems to remember that we’ve been together for 6 years and it’s not someone that I just met that can kill me in the trip or that all my family and friends know him well. Only “what the people would say…” As if I know those people or care about them.
As a matter of fact – just weeks before buying the plane tickets, some family members told me that they were not okay with me going – bummer! I also think “what this trip has given me?” Strength. In other times – if they were to say that to me, I would have canceled my trip. Because their opinion matters so much to me and it would have affected me deeply. But this time I got REALLY mad and woman up and said to myself “enough is enough!” I told them straight “I am going and I am going to buy the tickets”. And I made me so proud. It may seem as a small thing, but for me – someone who hates confrontations and prefers to run away – is a milestone.

Supreme Henna Hair Dye

Whenever I tell people I dye my hair with henna they all look me as if I were some kind of hippie. I only started dying my hair last year and I love it. I am not willing to compromise into a more aggressive hair dye because a) my hair is too thin and can’t handle it b) I am to lazy to retouch it.
The benefits of henna are plenty - it makes the hair stronger and more resilient to damage and breakage. Two things that I need! It’s important to specify: henna will not make your hair lighter. On your base color it will give it a reddish tone. You can lighten your hair with natural teas like chamomile.

I’ve used 2 kinds. One that I bought in Mexico and the one of the picture that my mom bought me in an Asian market in USA.  The second one – the one I review, is the better one. This one comes with 5 packages and with each one you have to put 5 tablespoons of water (I used chamomile tea for the lightening effects).

Masquerade

Last Sunday night it was Sailor Moon night! I love this chapter in the manga so I was looking forward to it (I still prefer the manga chapter over this episode).

Where was the article that said that the clothes would be modern clothes? Rei’s dress was so out of date!

Anyway, I love this chapter because there is a big development in Usagi&Mamoru’s relationship… their first kiss! Everything was okay. At the end of the episode, Usagi fell asleep on a bench because she was tired. Then Mamoru kisses her. While she was sleeping. Then Luna interrupts him and makes him go away.  At this scene my boyfriend suddenly says “is that a date rape?” and OMG looking from a cold non-fan perspective it kinda is – Luna was the friend that saves her/prevents it. He kisses her without her consent while she was asleep (in the manga she was also drunk). Of course we all know that they are meant to be, their true love that surpasses death and suicide and all that…

Off to work super-fast breakfast

On the mornings I don’t have time to make me a proper breakfast. That’s because I always sleep in and don’t have time left. But I can’t leave my house without eating something – that’s the way my mom thought me! So I Just put in the nutribullet these things:

  • Bananas: a healthy dose of potassium, an electrolyte.
  • WheatGerm: source of several essential nutrients including Vitamin E, folate (folic acid), phosphorus, thiamin, zinc, and magnesium, as well as essential fatty acids and fatty alcohols. It is a good source of fiber. (wiki)
  • Chocomilk – for taste and flavor
  • Almonds: a rich source of vitamin E
  • Oatmeal: rich in omega-3 fatty acids, folate, and potassium. (link)
  • Chia Seeds: According to the USDA, a one ounce (28 gram) serving of chia seeds contains 9 grams of fat, 5 milligrams of sodium, 11 grams of dietary fiber, 4 grams of protein, 18% of the recommended daily intake of calcium, 27% phosphorus and 30% manganese. (wiki)
The truth, I just put in whatever is in the cabin and that I think it would taste good – the good thing is all the health benefits!

My makeup bag

Last month, my mom gave me for my birthday a big bag. I’m the type of girl that used to think that those kind of bags weren’t for me. But one day, she lent me her bag and I discovered the magic of them. I can put inside whatever I want! The possibility is unimaginable.
So now that I use one I can put inside a makeup bag! Also – I never retouch my makeup and barely redo my lipstick but I love having the option to do it.
This is what I carry on my bag.

Wicked

I might be not posting it on facebook but hell yeah. I'm going to watch a broadway play and no other than Wicked. So excited. It is literally a dream come true.
